Cancer Council SA deals with every kind of cancer in every way, including supporting people travelling to Adelaide for cancer treatment.
Cancer treatment presents special challenges to people from rural and remote areas. Cancer Council SA owns and operates two motels, Cancer Council Lodge - Greenhill and Cancer Council Lodge - Flinders. Our aim is to provide accommodation in a warm, welcoming and friendly environment so our guests can feel at home during their time in Adelaide.
Fundraising allows Cancer Council SA to subsidise the operations of the Lodges. This means we are able to offer affordable accommodation at a time when many of our guests and their families are experiencing financial hardship.
Guests staying at our Lodges have access to Cancer Council resources, including an on-site social worker and Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20. Cancer Council vehicles, driven by our dedicated volunteers, travel to key cancer treatment centres at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Adelaide Radiotherapy Centres on South Terrace and at Flinders Private Hospital, and Tennyson Centre each week day.
